This release packs several GLX Screening Room improvements for media asset lifecycle, workflows, and revisions.

The GLX Screening Room offers creatives, communications and marketing professionals, and teams the ability to collaborate in the review of media simply to get feedback on one or several iterations of a video, or to help managed the release of rich media through a review and approval process.

Unified Notifications

Improved user collaboration with unified notifications

The 27 July 2022 release added support for Microsoft 365 OneDrive File Sharing and Microsoft Teams support. Collaborators now benefit from unified notifications on the channels they prefer. They now receive notifications via email, Microsoft Teams and Slack that inform them about updates to their collaboration workspaces or activity within one or more GLX Screening Rooms. With a single click from a notification the user is taken directly to the specific version of the asset under review.

Improved Media Workflows and Release Lifecycle

We’ve improved user workflow and the lifecycle for rich media assets in various ways.

  • Revision Workflow. We’ve made it easy for teammates to import revisions of the media from within a Screening Room. You can now import or select the revised content from Media Library or a Workspace from within the Screening Room. When you import a revision, you can now provide a description of the update, set a desired review deadline, and invite additional reviewers to the content. The link users receive via email, Slack or Teams takes reviewers directly to the specific revision where they can start providing feedback. All Workspace collaborators are also informed of these updates keeping everyone abreast of progress being made.

  • Designating Other Comment Finalizers and Releasers. We made it possible to accommodate cases when an approver is on vacation, or you need a specific subject matter expert to handle the approval or release of assets. To help a workspace owner designate to someone the role of comment period finalizer, or as media Release Approver - those that enable the distribution of approved media from a Screening Room – workspace owners can now delegate others to act in these roles.

  • Asset Review Lifecycle States. We’ve made it easier to see the state of Screening Room assets and inform collaborators with state-specific notifications. It’s now easy to glance at status using the Pending, Comments Finalized, Approved, and Released state banners of assets.

  • New Screening Room “Copy to Media Library”. When an asset is released from a screening room where do others access it? We improved the asset release process by making it easy for workspace owners and contributors to copy the media to a shared Media Library folder or the user’s private Media Library. We’ve streamlined the Screening Room and other GLX components with the ability to copy the asset between accounts and an organizations’ Media Library. This not only helps to streamline the release process, but also promotes best practices such as collecting approved assets in one place.

  • Improved Screening Room Details. Too often we ask ourselves who is authorized to release an asset or close the comment period. We’ve collected these details in the asset’s Screening Room information popup.
